Shemekia Copeland's new,
Dr. John-produced CD, Talking To Strangers, will hit the street on
September 17, and anticipation is high. She has already been the
subject of features, reviews or mentions in The New York Times,
Ebony, Time Out New York and Newsweek and will be featured and/or
reviewed in Vibe, Billboard, Blender, DownBeat, Pulse, Associated
Press, Amazon.com, CDNow, The Chicago Tribune, Women Who Rock, Blues
Review, Living Blues with many other publications to follow suit.
The first single, Livin' On
Love, is heading toward smash status at the Adult Rock (AAA) radio
format. One of the format's most influential stations, WXRT (in
Chicago) added the song two weeks early. It's expected that many
more of the format's leading stations will follow suit on the
single's radio impact date of September 16.

Shemekia, along with Dr. John, will open for The Rolling Stones at
Chicago's Aragon Ballroom.
